Unless this simulator is not having wipe out feature and throws you off the skis I’d prefer the real thing because there is nothing more fun than having couple of broken legs. Just kidding!

This is probably the closest thing you can get as far as sky simulators can go.

Hmm .. Wii Board, I think it’s time for an upgrade.

How blood from a mosquito gave police DNA to catch a ‘car thief’

A suspected car thief has been arrested - thanks to a DNA sample taken from blood found inside a mosquito.Police inspecting a dumped stolen car in Lapua, Finland, last June noticed a full-looking mosquito. It was sent to a lab for testing, and the DNA was found to match the sample of a man in the police register. The suspect has insisted he did not steal the car, claiming he hitchhiked and was given a lift by a male driver. A prosecutor will decide if the evidence is solid enough for charges to be pressed. Police inspector Sakari Palomaeki said: ‘It is not easy to find a small mosquito in a car. This just shows how thorough the crime scene investigation was.’

Michael Jackson ‘needs lung transplant’

Jackson’s biographer Ian Halperin has been quoted saying that the pop star is suffering from a fatal inherited diease that has left him increasingly frail.

Mr Halperin was quoted in the Sun saying: “He needs a lung transplant, but may be too weak to go through with it. He also has emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, which his doctors have had a lot of trouble stopping.

“It’s the bleeding that’s the most problematic part. It could kill him.”

Mr Halperin alleged Jackson, 50, had developed an alpha-1 anti-trypsin deficiency, in which sufferers lack a protein that protects the lungs. Treatment includes a lung transplant.

Eco Factor: Ecofriendly cruise ship hosts 216 solar panels to power elevators and LED lights.

Just in time for Christmas, Celebrity Cruises has announced a new ecofriendly cruise ship, the Celebrity Solstice. The ship intends to take people for a green cruise with a solar energy, fuel-efficient design, LED lights and a grass-covered top deck.

Celebrity Solstice is the industry’s first ship to use solar energy, with 216 panels generating power for all the ship’s elevators, or more than 7000 LED lights used in the cruise ship. The overall design of the ship has been made as aerodynamic as possible to increase its fuel efficiency and speed. The higher wattage halogen lamps on the ship have all be replaced by longer-lasting and energy-efficient fluorescent and LED lights, cutting the energy requirements by as much as 50%.

FARO wins sustainable design competition with residential tower

The city of Almere organized a design competition for urban villas and a residential tower for the Cascade park. These designs needed to fit within the ambition to develop the Cascade park as a ‘window of sustainability’: an inspiring example for ecological, social and economical sustainability.

The location of the tower is unique, as it, with at least 57 residences, will form the head (or tail) of the park. The tower is designed to become a part of the park: it will allow the park to be growing on the public side of the tower in the form of green balconies. Residences with a view have to possibility to also have a private garden in one of the circles on the parking deck.

The building can be arranged in a number of ways. The system used for construction allows great flexibility in number of residences and arrangements of floor plans. Should the future desire an other way of living, this tower can be easily adapted.
